The Wait is Over -- the New, All-Electric 2019 Audi e-tron is Soon to Appear!

With the likelihood that nearly 30 percent of its customers in the US will go fully electric by 2025, Audi has upped its game yet again. The first of three electric vehicles that our Bavarian automaker plans to unveil by 2020, the all-new 2019 Audi e-tron, is set to energize audiences at its global reveal in San Francisco on September 17, 2018. So, what can high-efficiency buffs expect? Details are limited, but here's what we know:

  • 2019 e-tron will be a five-passenger SUV with no shortage of premium feel. We've heard tell that Audi sound engineers have helped deliver a nearly silent interior experience, with soundproofing, dual-pane windows, and specialized seals to keep things as peaceful as you've come to love from the luxury namesake.
  • We can anticipate a forward-thinking design at the advanced electric and digital technological forefront, with the driving dynamics and build quality of a luxury SUV. That'll at least include an all-new electric quattro® all-wheel-drive variant, dual electric motors placed on each of the axles for thrilling acceleration, and liquid cooling for battery optimization.
  • There ought to be a showcase of integrated digital tools to streamline the ride -- among them, an Audi mobile app for personalizing vehicle settings, monitoring charge levels, remotely adjusting cabin temperature, and locating a charger within the growing network of more than 15,000 public charging stations.
  • We can find numerous provisions for in-home charging, including a 150 kW high-speed option set to deliver approximately 80% of a full charge in as little as 30 minutes. We think there'll be long-range capability, too, owing to a 95 kWh battery.
  • Peace of mind will come standard. There will be infrastructure and support in place for the transition to an Audi EV well in advance of release from the 303 dealer partners in the Audi of America family.

But the most exciting thing about the Four Rings' first all-electric SUV? Other than the long-awaited full roster of specs available soon after the big show, you'll be able to custom-configure and reserve your own as well as track it online and with our Audi dealership here in Temecula.
